How Beckham Does It - The Science of Football Free Kicks

A one and a half hour interactive event on the physics of football free kicks.

basic theory of gases - air pressure - forces - Newton's laws - vectors - fluid mechanics - drag and lift - laminar and turbulent flow - the Magnus effect - Beckham, Roberto Carlos and Del Piero - the knuckleball free kick - how to take the perfect free kick!

- with many images, graphics and demonstrations

- plus the technology of footballs and football boots.

Delivery tailored to the age and make-up of the audience - always presented in an engaging and fun manner.

Suitable for pupils from Year 5 to Year 13 and for family audiences.

How Flintoff Does It - The Science of Cricket Swing Bowling

A one and a half hour interactive event on the physics of swing bowling.

Basic theory of gases - air pressure - forces - Newton's laws - vectors - Bernoulli's theorem - fluid mechanics - boundary layers - laminar and turbulent flow - conventional swing - reverse swing - Flintoff, Waqar Younis, Kapil Dev, Hoggard - how to bowl the perfect swinging delivery!

Suitable for pupils from Year 5 to Year 13 and for family audiences

Delivery tailored to the age and make-up of the audience - always presented in an engaging and fun manner.

We visit the school either for a half day, when we make either one or two presentations, or a full day when we make either two or three presentations.
